Nvidia Unveils Next-Gen Products at Computex 2024

Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, unveiled new products and strategic plans at Computex 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan, on June 2, 2024. Addressing a packed audience at National Taiwan University’s sports center, Huang declared that “the next Industrial Revolution has begun,” signaling a significant shift towards artificial intelligence (AI) and accelerated computing.

Huang introduced the Nvidia ACE generative AI, aimed at creating lifelike human avatars for industries such as customer support. He also announced the company’s upcoming “ultra” version of the recently released Blackwell platform for 2025 and briefly mentioned a new GPU architecture codenamed Rubin.

Huang highlighted that partnerships with major companies like Taiwan’s Foxconn and Germany’s Siemens are utilizing Nvidia’s platforms for developing AI-powered autonomous robots. Praising Taiwan’s crucial semiconductor industry, he acknowledged the role of Taiwanese manufacturers in producing AI infrastructure.

Other key speakers at Computex 2024 include AMD’s Lisa Su and Qualcomm’s Cristiano Amon, who are expected to discuss their own advancements in AI technology. The expo also features speeches by Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger and Rene Haas from British chip design company Arm.

Nvidia, which has seen its stock value skyrocket from $34 in June 2019 to $1,090 in 2024, continues to lead the AI revolution. The company’s GPUs are a cornerstone for AI applications, powering everything from autonomous vehicles to data centers.

The event underscored Taiwan’s pivotal role in the semiconductor supply chain, a critical component of AI technology, amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions with China.
