Eyeris, a leading company in in-cabin sensing AI and sensor fusion solutions, garners prestigious awards for their innovative technology at AutoTech: Detroit 2024, solidifying their position in the automotive industry.

Eyeris Secures Recognition at AutoTech: Detroit 2024

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and DETROIT, June 10, 2024 — Eyeris, a company specialising in in-cabin sensing AI and sensor fusion solutions, has been honoured with two significant awards at the AutoTech: Detroit 2024. Eyeris was named “Automotive Tech Company of the Year” and “Automotive Product of the Year” at the event held on June 4, 2024. These accolades were accepted by Eyeris Founder and CEO, Modar Alaoui.

Notable Awards and Achievements

Founded in 2015, Eyeris has consistently been in the spotlight, evidenced by its ten consecutive nominations as a finalist at AutoTech: Detroit. The company holds the distinction of being the most decorated entity in the field of automotive in-cabin sensing AI.

The “Automotive Tech Company of the Year” award recognises Eyeris’ advances in AI-driven in-cabin sensing technology, which emphasise both safety and passenger comfort. On the product front, the “Automotive Tech Product of the Year” award was given to Eyeris’ in-cabin monocular 3D sensing AI technology, which offers a comprehensive solution for whole-cabin monitoring.

Technological Advancements

Eyeris’ 3D sensing AI technology enhances depth-aware interior sensing without relying on traditional 3D sensors like Time of Flight (ToF) or stereo cameras. Instead, the technology uses advanced computer vision AI models to derive 3D data from 2D image sensors, such as the newer 5MP RGBIR sensors. This approach aims to maintain computational efficiency while achieving high levels of accuracy.

Beyond conventional monitoring, Eyeris’ technology promises applications like 3D scene reconstruction pre- and post-crash, integration with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and depth-aware airbag deployment. It also aims to accelerate insurance claims through real-time data exchange.

Eyeris showcased this technology with a production reference design at CES 2024, underlining its potential to lower 3D sensing costs, reduce time-to-market, and mitigate integration risks for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers.

Industry Reactions

Industry experts lauded Eyeris’ accomplishments. Dave Zoia, Senior Director of Content at Wards Intelligence, said, “Eyeris impressed our judges with its innovative 3D sensing technology and versatile product portfolio. Its focus on safety and customer experience aligns well with industry trends, particularly as it pertains to Level 2+ and beyond autonomy.”

Roger Lanctot, CEO and Founder of Strategia Now Consulting, remarked on the far-reaching implications of Eyeris’ technology, particularly emphasising its role in transforming pre- and post-crash assessments and insurance claims processes.

Kevin Mak, Principal Analyst at TechInsights, highlighted Eyeris’ ability to convert 2D cameras into 3D perception systems, significantly enhancing the capabilities of in-cabin monitoring while keeping costs manageable.

Clientele and Market Position

Eyeris’ in-cabin sensing solutions are licensed by major automotive companies, including Ford, Toyota, Honda, Bosch, and Jaguar Land Rover. The company’s technology is applicable to a range of vehicle types, from personal cars to fleets.

About Eyeris

Headquartered in Mountain View, California, Eyeris focuses on vision-based AI software for automotive applications. Over the past decade, the company has accumulated several industry awards, validating its pioneering work in in-cabin sensing and AI-driven safety solutions.

Modar Alaoui, Eyeris’ Founder and CEO, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that it highlighted the team’s commitment to innovation and excellence in AI for automotive applications.
