Organisers of the 2024 CMA Fest in Nashville deploy advanced AI-powered surveillance units to ensure safety at one of the world’s largest country music festivals. The technology, provided by Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc., offers real-time monitoring and analytics to enhance security measures and reduce costs.

CMA Fest Employs AI-Powered Surveillance for Enhanced Security

In an effort to bolster safety at the 2024 CMA Fest, organisers deployed advanced surveillance technology provided by Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc. (RAD). A subsidiary of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc., RAD installed four RIO™ (ROSA Independent Observatory) solar-powered mobile surveillance units to monitor the event, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee.

The CMA Fest, known as one of the world’s largest country music festivals, attracted thousands of attendees. Ensuring the security of such a significant gathering necessitated comprehensive measures. The RIO units, situated at strategic locations throughout the venue, provided continuous surveillance and real-time monitoring. These units are equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse crowd movements, detect anomalies, and communicate promptly with on-site security personnel and law enforcement.

Steve Reinharz, CEO and CTO of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc., highlighted the effectiveness of the technology, stating that it exemplified the company’s commitment to improving security solutions. “Our technology doesn’t just increase safety; it also offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional security methods,” Reinharz noted.

Troy McCanna, RAD’s Chief Security Officer and former FBI senior agent, also commended the technology’s reliability. “The success of the RIO units at this event has demonstrated their capability in providing robust security in dynamic environments,” McCanna said.

Beyond their use at the CMA Fest, RAD’s surveillance units have a broader range of application, from retail centres to healthcare campuses and construction sites. The technology’s versatility makes it an attractive option for various industries in need of security solutions.

The RIO surveillance units feature dual ROSA devices, which are portable and can be installed quickly. These units utilise AI-driven analytics to detect humans, firearms, and vehicles, and can recognise licence plates. They also enable two-way communication and are equipped with high-resolution cameras that provide continuous video feed.

Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc., through its subsidiary RAD, seeks to transform the traditional $25 billion security and guarding services industry. The company offers a Solutions-as-a-Service model aimed at reducing costs significantly, by 35% to 80% compared to conventional manned security.

With a prospective sales pipeline that includes over 35 Fortune 500 companies, RAD anticipates further deployments of its technology at additional events and venues in the near future. The company believes that as it converts sales opportunities into active deployments, it will generate recurring revenue.

AITX develops all its AI-based analytics and software platforms in-house, ensuring a high level of integration and operational efficiency. The company’s technology aims to augment existing staff capabilities while providing higher levels of situational awareness at a lower cost.

In conclusion, the deployment of RAD’s RIO units at the CMA Fest serves as a significant test case, demonstrating the potential benefits of AI-driven security technologies. As RAD expands its footprint, it may continue to play a critical role in enhancing safety and security across various sectors.
