HP Report Reveals Global Leaders’ Support for AI and Technology in Driving Social Impact

A recent HP report in collaboration with Oxford Economics highlights the importance of AI and technology in achieving sustainable development goals, with a majority of business and government leaders worldwide expressing enthusiasm for leveraging technology for positive societal change.

HP Report Highlights Enthusiasm for AI and Technology Among Business and Government Leaders

New Delhi, June 12, 2024 – A recent HP report indicates that a significant majority of Indians, about 89%, believe technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), plays a crucial role in integrating traditionally excluded populations into the economy. Globally, 76% of business and government leaders view AI and technology as vital for achieving sustainability and social impact goals.

Key Points from the HP Study:
– Conducted by HP in collaboration with Oxford Economics, the survey included business executives and government officials from 10 countries.
– 76% of global leaders agree that technology is essential for expanding economic opportunities and driving progress in sustainability.
– The study shows strong global sentiment towards the current and future use of AI in areas like digital education (90%), workforce development (89%), and workforce diversity (86%).

HP Initiatives:
HP plans to integrate AI training into its HP LIFE program, offering free courses under its Digital Business Skills initiative. The company aims to enroll 2.75 million users in HP LIFE by 2030, expanding from its current 1.2 million users globally. Moreover, HP will introduce next-generation AI PCs in India, designed to enhance productivity and creativity.

Progress in Digital Equity:
HP’s recent Sustainable Impact report states that they have accelerated digital equity for over 45 million people since 2021, nearing one-third of its 2030 goal of reaching 150 million people. Actions taken include supported digital equity solutions in Malaysia, South Africa, Mexico, and the U.S., positively impacting education, employment, and community services.

Future Plans:
HP will release a new AI skills course later this year and launch the HP AI in Social Impact Award with MIT Solve, targeting social entrepreneurs worldwide. Additionally, the company plans to debut next-gen AI PCs for commercial and consumer markets this month.
