The importance of Bitcoin miners’ resources for artificial intelligence (AI) firms has been emphasised by recent collaborations and takeover offers, with CoreWeave’s bid for Core Scientific and the $3.5 billion hosting agreement between the two companies setting a new precedent in the industry. Other mining companies like Hut 8 and Iris Energy have also joined the trend by launching AI-hosting initiatives.

Bitcoin miners possess essential resources for artificial intelligence (AI) firms, such as advanced chips, high-tech cooling systems, and supporting infrastructure. The increasing interest in these resources was highlighted when CoreWeave made a takeover offer for Bitcoin miner Core Scientific. This interest was underscored by Core Scientific’s recent $3.5 billion agreement to host CoreWeave’s AI services, marking the largest miner/AI collaboration to date. Additionally, Bitwise noted that other mining companies like Hut 8 and Iris Energy have also launched AI-hosting initiatives this year.
