Milwaukee, WI – ADAM Aerospace, a company specialising in advanced cryptography and cybersecurity, has announced an expansion of its current contract with the United States Air Force and Space Force. This expansion will incorporate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into its latest Software as a Service (SaaS) product, BASE. The inclusion of generative AI and large language models aims to enhance the Department of Defense’s (DoD) ability to manage and secure data rapidly and securely.
In a statement released on 29 June 2024, Michael Adam, CEO and founder of ADAM Aerospace, expressed enthusiasm about the new developments. “We are looking forward to the opportunity that has been presented to us in adding an AI component to our existing contract with the Air Force,” he said. “This speaks volumes about our track record in defence tech innovation and adds AI to ADAM’s direct award authority technology scope.”
Generative AI, such as the kind employed by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, can generate human-like text based on vast amounts of data. This technology will be embedded into ADAM’s solutions to help quantify and compile data more efficiently and securely, benefitting the DoD’s operational capabilities.
BASE, which stands for Blockchain-based Secure Environment, was created in 2023 following ADAM’s third consecutive contract award from the Air Force. Initially designed to leverage blockchain technology for secure personal record-keeping, BASE has evolved into a SaaS product that provides a secure and comprehensive repository for personal records over a person’s entire career. The aim is to ensure military personnel can fully access their records, whether it pertains to medical records, training documentation, clearances, or other essential documents, without risking loss of time, benefits, or financial gain.
The launch of this enhanced BASE product is anticipated in the fourth quarter of this year, promising to revolutionise how US military personnel interact with and secure their own documentation from the start of their service to their exit. The integration of generative AI will further enhance the utility and security of this system.
ADAM Aerospace has been distinguished by its solid track record in defence technology, being awarded three consecutive Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts in the past two years. These contracts include SBIR Phase I and Phase II for secure aircraft data loading and Direct to Phase II for blockchain-secure military records (BASE).
The company is currently pilot-testing its data verification technology across various sectors, including with avionics Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), drone manufacturers, and financial institutions, indicating its potential for broader commercial application beyond the military sphere.
