The ISG Buyers Guides for Learning Management, created by ISG Software Research, highlight the critical role of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for productivity, agility, and operational excellence. These systems facilitate regulatory compliance, risk avoidance, career growth, and enhanced employee engagement and retention.
Matthew Brown, Director of HCM Software Research at ISG, emphasized the evolving expectations of learners and the shift towards seeing learning as a driver of business success. Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs) are gaining popularity for their focus on the learner experience through curated content and social learning.

The research assessed 32 software providers across categories including LMS, LXP, Learning Content Solutions, and Extended Enterprise Learning. Top providers were identified as Oracle, Schoox, and Cornerstone for LMS; Oracle, EdCast by Cornerstone, and Absorb for LXP; Udemy, Cornerstone, and ELB Learning for Learning Content Solutions; and Oracle, Cornerstone, and Schoox for Extended Enterprise Learning.
