On June 21, 2024, Alibaba Cloud introduced its first AI programmer at the Cloud AI summit in Shanghai. This AI tool is designed to expedite application development by acting as a software architect, development engineer, and test engineer. It can build applications in minutes by decomposing tasks, writing code, and testing through user interactions. Xu Dong, general manager of Alibaba Cloud’s Tongyi Qianwen LLM service, stated that this AI innovation would transform how software applications are developed. However, some programmers expressed concerns over job impacts and the reliability of AI-generated code.
OpenAI Delays Voice Mode Feature Launch
OpenAI announced a one-month delay to the release of its “Voice Mode” feature, initially scheduled for late June. The feature aims to provide realistic voice conversations for ChatGPT Plus users but requires further refinement in content detection, user experience, and infrastructure scaling.
