AI Adoption Increasing Among Romanian Employees: eJobs Survey Report

A recent eJobs survey has found that 34.9% of Romanian employees regularly utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini for office tasks. Conducted in May 2024 with 800 respondents, the survey reveals that 18.8% of these users employ AI daily, 13.4% weekly, and 5.7% several times a month.

Approximately 48.1% of employees indicated they do not use AI tools at all, while 13.9% reported rare usage. The survey highlights a significant AI adoption in white-collar and specialist roles, particularly in fields like IT, marketing, communication, and translation.

Key reasons for using AI tools include information research (68.7%), email and message writing (44.4%), and translations (34.3%). Other uses mentioned were coding, creating job descriptions, customer response templates, digital content, and brainstorming.

About 60% of respondents noted that AI made their work easier, while 26.7% saw no significant impact, and 13.2% felt confused by the technology. Benefits identified include time-saving (68.2%), providing new perspectives (61.5%), aiding repetitive tasks (32.3%), and enhancing productivity (42.1%).

Challenges cited by dissatisfied users included unreliable information, lack of confidence in AI tools, and difficulty in formulating precise questions. Nearly 19% had never tried AI tools due to unawareness, with 6.6% feeling they lacked the necessary digital skills.

Ana Călugăru, Head of Communications at eJobs, commented on the survey findings.
