Dazhon Darien, an athletics director at Pikesville High School, has been arrested for allegedly producing a false, racially charged recording of the school’s principal, sparking community outrage and potential job termination.

Dazhon Darien, an athletics director at Pikesville High School in Baltimore County, has been arrested for allegedly creating a fake, racist recording of the school’s principal, Eric Eiswert. The AI-generated recording, which surfaced on January 17, 2024, contained offensive remarks attributed to Eiswert, sparking community outrage.

Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough confirmed the recording was inauthentic, citing forensic analyses from both the FBI and the University of California, Berkeley. The investigation revealed that Darien purportedly created the recording in retaliation against Eiswert, who was investigating him for potential mishandling of $1,916 in school funds.

Darien was taken into custody at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Following his arrest, Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Myriam Rogers recommended possible termination of Darien’s employment.
