Gates reassured listeners that AI is unlikely to replace software engineers in the near future. He labeled concerns about AI displacing these professionals as “alarmist,” emphasizing that the demand for software engineers will continue. He also mentioned the possibility of AI reaching a level where it could potentially replace all jobs but considers this scenario unlikely to occur within the next two decades.
