InfoComm 2024 is set to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 8-14. ENCO President Ken Frommert discussed their focus for the event and the technology trends expected to dominate conversations. ENCO will emphasize AI applications in the AV space, particularly in speech-to-text conversion for live events, including captioning and real-time, multi-lingual translations.
ENCO will showcase their Qimera virtual production system, featuring AR, VR, and XR capabilities powered by Unreal Engine. This system aims to assist corporate clients with video productions and internal/external communications. Another highlight will be the enCaption Sierra system for automated live captioning, alongside the enTranslate plug-in, which offers real-time translation and AI-generated overdubs. InfoComm will also mark the debut of AiM, a text-to-speech product using synthetic voices for instant audio creation.
Frommert expressed that the event is a source of inspiration and networking, providing opportunities to learn about industry projects and innovative solutions. The advancements in AI-powered live captioning, which leverage large language models, were also noted as significantly improving accuracy and quality.
