At the Nvidia GTC global AI conference, Refik Anadol revealed his latest AI art creation ‘Large Nature Model: Living Art’ on a massive 16K video wall, highlighting the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest with a team of experts from Refik Anadol Studio and powered by Nvidia’s AI technology.

At the Nvidia GTC global AI conference for developers on March 26, 2024, generative AI artist Refik Anadol unveiled his latest AI art piece, “Large Nature Model: Living Art.” The artwork was presented on a 40-meter by 20-meter 16K resolution video wall immediately before a keynote speech by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

The “Large Nature Model” project is a collaborative effort involving 29 data scientists, graphic designers, and AI specialists from Refik Anadol Studio. The artwork was developed using a Getty Images foundation model built on Nvidia’s Edify architecture and was fine-tuned with a dataset of approximately 750,000 images of flora, fauna, and fungi, showcasing the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest.

Nvidia’s AI technology, including DGX A100 stations and high-performance GPUs, powered the creation of the artwork. AV Stumpfl’s Pixera media servers, installed by Fuse Technical Group, facilitated the display of the art piece.
