HydroX AI Secures $4 Million Funding to Enhance AI Safety with New Platform

San Jose, Calif. – HydroX AI, an emerging player in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, has announced the successful completion of a $4 million angel funding round. The financing, secured from Vitalbridge Capital, Atom Capital, and AI expert Qi Lu, aims to bolster the company’s initiatives in AI safety and security, particularly for large language models (LLMs).

HydroX AI is setting forth ambitious plans to mitigate the increasing risks associated with LLMs, which are becoming an integral part of various technological applications. As AI integration deepens in daily life, the vulnerability of these models to potential attacks has also surged, underscoring the necessity for rigorous safety measures.

Market Context and Growth Trajectory

The global revenue from LLMs is projected to soar to $260 billion by 2030. This rapid growth is paralleled by the increasing complexity and sophistication of security threats. Research by HydroX AI suggests that LLMs can be compromised within three months of deployment, highlighting an urgent need for robust security infrastructures.

“We are witnessing the early stages of AI’s integration into society, which brings forward issues that extend beyond mere privacy and security, encompassing ethics, learning, and mental health impacts as well,” stated Ben, a partner at Vitalbridge Capital. “In the future, security will not only serve as a protective measure but as a fundamental bedrock for AI’s progression.”

EPASS: A Holistic AI Security Solution

In conjunction with the funding announcement, HydroX AI has launched EPASS, the Evaluation Platform for AI Safety and Security. This platform aims to provide comprehensive tools for assessing, managing, and enhancing the security, privacy, integrity, and safety of AI models.

The EPASS platform offers several key functionalities:
– Evaluation: Utilising advanced techniques to identify vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to high safety and integrity standards. The platform generates detailed reports to help refine AI performance.
– Management: A user-friendly dashboard integrates seamlessly into existing workflows, facilitating real-time monitoring and updates.
– Leaderboard: A ranking system benchmarks AI models across over 30 safety and security categories, aiding continuous improvement through critical reference points.

Tailored Solutions and Industry Engagement

HydroX AI’s EPASS platform aims to be a vital asset for various stakeholders by simplifying the evaluation and improvement processes without the expense of building in-house infrastructures. The platform includes essential features in standard accounts with options for advanced, customisable add-ons. These enhancements include unlimited evaluations per category, tailored category bundles, higher processing speeds, intuitive dashboards for real-time insights, additional attack methods, and dedicated GPU resources.

Currently, in its early developmental phase, HydroX AI is actively engaging with leading companies in the LLM sector. Initial feedback indicates significant improvements in safety and security measures, validating the platform’s potential and strategy for addressing trust issues in LLMs.

Leadership Expertise and Vision

Founded in 2023 by Zhuo Li, former head of the Privacy and Data Protection Office at Bytedance, HydroX AI benefits from a team rich in experience and expertise. Li’s background includes notable stints at Meta and LinkedIn, contributing to progressive measures in privacy and security. Head of Engineering Yuji Kosuga brings further depth to the team with experience from LinkedIn, Google, and Meta, reinforcing HydroX AI’s commitment to advancing AI safety and security.

Outlook

With its fresh capital injection, pioneering platform, and a team of seasoned experts, HydroX AI is well-positioned to address the critical needs in AI safety and security. The company’s innovative approach with EPASS stands to play a significant role in the evolving landscape of AI, ensuring that growth is accompanied by enhanced safety and trustworthiness.
