The announcement was made on Tuesday by Defense Minister Minoru Kihara, who emphasized the necessity of adopting AI to ensure efficient use of personnel amidst the country’s dwindling and aging population. He expressed confidence that AI could address these pressing challenges faced by the Self-Defense Forces, especially with recruitment concerns and the need to leverage new technologies for enhancing military capabilities.
