Kuaishou Technology Introduces Advanced AI Video Generation Model ‘Kling’
Beijing, June 10, 2024 – Kuaishou Technology, a prominent content community and social platform, has announced the launch of its new AI-driven video generation model, Kling. This model is designed to produce high-quality videos from text prompts, reflecting realistic motion patterns and physical characteristics.
Kling utilises diffusion-based transformer architecture (DiT), enhanced by Kuaishou’s proprietary upgrades in latent space encoding/decoding and temporal modelling. The company’s development of a 3D VAE network allows Kling to achieve synchronous spatiotemporal compression, balancing performance and effectiveness in video reconstruction.
The model is notable for its ability to transmute complex textual descriptions into videos up to two minutes in length, with a frame rate of 30 frames per second and a resolution of up to 1080p. It supports various aspect ratios, catering to a diverse range of user needs. The incorporation of a full-attention mechanism ensures comprehensive analysis and processing of video data, enabling the model to accurately capture and replicate local spatial features and temporal dynamics.
“This model integrates temporal and spatial information, providing a detailed reproduction of complex motions and dynamic scenes,” Kuaishou’s statement highlighted. “Kling’s capabilities include capturing details from rapidly moving objects, drastic scene changes, and intricate human movements, thereby facilitating the creation of highly realistic video content.”
Currently, Kling is available for beta testing through Kuaishou’s video editing application, KuaiYing, for users in China. Interested users are encouraged to register via KuaiYing to participate in the trial phase. Further details and video demonstrations are accessible on Kling’s official website.
Kuaishou has been proactive in developing large AI models to enhance its content and commercial ecosystems. This launch follows other significant releases, such as “KwaiYii,” a general large language model with 175 billion parameters, and “KeTu,” a text-to-image generation model. These innovations reflect the company’s strategic emphasis on leveraging AI to diversify and enrich user experiences.
Kuaishou’s broader vision involves integrating AI solutions across its platforms to serve content creators and users more effectively. By accelerating research and development in AI technologies, the company aims to elevate its service offerings and maintain competitiveness in the fast-evolving tech landscape.
Kuaishou, known in the industry for its customer-centric approach, continues to develop and optimise products and services to meet a wide array of user needs, spanning entertainment, e-commerce, online games, and knowledge-sharing among others. The company positions itself as a facilitator of user expression through short videos and live streams, working closely with content creators and businesses.
The introduction of Kling aligns with Kuaishou’s ongoing efforts to fuse deep technological advancements with practical applications, aiming to provide a robust and versatile platform for digital content creation.
