Michael Kors partners with Mastercard’s Dynamic Yield to introduce AI-powered shopping assistant ‘Shopping Muse’, revolutionising the online shopping experience with personalised product recommendations and increased conversion rates.

Michael Kors Introduces AI-Powered Shopping Assistant From Dynamic Yield by Mastercard

Michael Kors, in collaboration with Mastercard’s Dynamic Yield, has introduced a new AI-powered shopping assistant named Shopping Muse. The integration, which is now available on the Michael Kors website in the United States, marks the brand as the first retailer to utilise this advanced retail technology.

Shopping Muse, which relies on generative AI capabilities, aims to recreate the in-store shopping experience by converting everyday language into tailored product recommendations. This technology is designed to assist customers in finding suitable outfits and accessories for various occasions, including the upcoming wedding season and summer trips. By personalising the shopping experience based on customer queries and demonstrated preferences, the assistant seeks to increase both shopper satisfaction and conversion rates—a preliminary study suggested a 15-20% uplift in conversions compared to traditional search functions.

Ori Bauer, CEO of Dynamic Yield, commented on the technology’s alignment with Michael Kors’ brand philosophy. “As a trailblazer in ready-to-wear fashion, Michael Kors is a perfect example of how to put our ready-to-use technology to use. Shopping Muse is helping translate the signature Michael Kors service to the digital world, delivering a satisfying shopping experience as singular and impactful as the brand’s aesthetic,” he said.

Shopping Muse was initially launched in late 2023 and offered early access to select fashion retailers, including Michael Kors. The AI assistant is now also being introduced to the furniture retail sector, expanding its potential customer base.

Mastercard emphasises its commitment to data privacy and security in the development and deployment of Shopping Muse. The company incorporates a “Privacy by Design” framework and adheres to standards ensuring that the AI technology operates responsibly, providing enhanced shopping experiences while safeguarding consumer data.
