US software giant Salesforce plans to establish an AI centre in London, located in Southwark, as part of a major $4 billion investment in the UK AI sector. The initiative aims to drive growth in UK businesses and is aligned with the forecasted £1 trillion market value for AI in the UK by 2035.

Salesforce, a US software giant, has announced plans to open an AI centre in London as part of a $4 billion investment in AI in the UK over the next five years. The new centre, located in the Blue Fin Building in Southwark, will serve as an innovation space to bring together industry experts and businesses. Salesforce’s CEO for the UK and Ireland, Zahra Bahrololoumi, emphasized the potential for AI to drive growth in UK businesses, with the UK AI market forecasted to reach over $1 trillion by 2035.

The opening of this AI centre is timed to coincide with London Tech Week, beginning June 10, an annual event that highlights the UK as a burgeoning technology hub. Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth, welcomed the initiative, highlighting London’s growing importance as a centre for AI businesses. Janet Coyle, managing director of Grow London at London and Partners, noted that international AI companies view London as highly supportive of AI development. Salesforce’s move is seen as a significant step in advancing AI innovation in the region.
