Secondmind has been recognised for their exceptional contribution to improving e-powertrain calibration efficiency by winning the prestigious Alternative Powertrain Test Innovation of the Year award at the 17th Automotive Testing Technology International Awards in Stuttgart, Germany.

Secondmind has won the Alternative Powertrain Test Innovation of the Year award at the 17th Automotive Testing Technology International (ATTI) Awards, held in Stuttgart, Germany. The accolade recognizes Secondmind’s contributions to improving e-powertrain calibration efficiency with their Secondmind for Calibration application. This AI-driven tool notably reduces test bench occupancy and data requirements, optimizing e-powertrain performance and extending vehicle range.

The application merges physics-informed models with advanced machine learning to provide precise predictions for thermal management and other factors affecting e-motor performance. By automating labor-intensive tasks, it reduces data needs by 80%, cuts calibration time by half, and decreases the reliance on costly prototypes by 40%.

Notable attendees included Secondmind’s CEO Gary Brotman and Chief Product Officer Morgan Jenkins. The judging panel, consisting of 11 industry experts, including engineers, consultants, and technical writers, praised Secondmind’s innovative approach. Mohammad Behroozi from General Motors described the application as a “potential game-changer,” while other judges highlighted its efficiency and environmental benefits.

Secondmind has also recently been commended in the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards for AI Company of the Year, reflecting its ongoing impact and innovation within the AI and automotive sectors.
