Tesco Launches AI-Powered Clubcard Challenges Trial

Tesco has announced a new initiative for its Clubcard members, launching a trial for ‘Clubcard Challenges’ that are personalized using artificial intelligence (AI). This trial will see around 3 million selected Tesco Clubcard holders participating, chosen based on their regular digital engagement with Tesco and opt-in status for marketing communications.

Participants in the trial will be notified via email and a banner on the Tesco app until May 20. The challenges will be customized, varying from tasks like spending a set amount on specific product ranges. Completing these challenges will reward participants with additional Clubcard points.

The trial, starting on May 20 and running for six weeks, allows eligible shoppers to complete up to 10 challenges, earning up to £50 worth of Clubcard points or 5,000 points. These points can potentially be doubled in value if redeemed at Tesco’s reward partners such as Cineworld, Pizza Express, and Thorpe Park.

The initiative seeks to enhance customer loyalty and engagement through personalized experiences. The usual benefits of the Tesco Clubcard program will remain unaffected for participants in this trial.
