Additionally, the Texas Education Agency has implemented computer grading for written answers in the STAAR exams. While these advancements introduce potential challenges, they also present opportunities to enhance student engagement and alleviate repetitive tasks for educators.
To address the integration and implications of AI, the Texas House of Representatives has formed an Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies subcommittee during the interim legislative period. The subcommittee aims to explore how AI integrates into daily life and the associated security risks.
Texas AFT seeks to proactively address AI in public education by gathering feedback from its members.
