A Turkish student was apprehended for employing sophisticated technological tools to cheat during a university entrance exam in Isparta. The student utilised a camera embedded in a shirt button, AI software, and a concealed router in their shoe to gain an unfair advantage.

A Turkish student has been detained after being caught using advanced technology to cheat on a university entrance exam. The incident occurred on June 8 during the TYT exam in the southwestern province of Isparta. The student used a camera disguised as a shirt button, artificial intelligence (AI) software, and a router hidden in the sole of their shoe to facilitate the cheating.

The police became suspicious of the student’s behavior and after conducting a search, discovered the hidden devices. The AI system sent exam questions captured by the button-camera via the router to a remote location, where the answers were generated and relayed back to the student through an earpiece.

A second individual was also detained for assisting the student with the cheating scheme. Both individuals have been formally arrested and sent to jail pending trial, facing charges related to exam fraud. A video released by the police detailed the method of cheating and the technology used.
