Linnea Sage and Paul Skye Lehrman have filed a lawsuit against AI firm Lovo, alleging the company created and used AI-generated clones of their voices without authorization. The lawsuit, filed in the Southern District Court of New York, seeks class action status and over $5 million in damages.

Voice actors Linnea Sage and Paul Skye Lehrman have filed a lawsuit against AI firm Lovo, accusing the company of creating and using AI-generated clones of their voices without permission. The lawsuit, seeking class action status, was filed on May 14, 2024, in the Southern District Court of New York.

Lehrman claims he provided voice samples in 2020 for what he thought was a one-time academic project, only to later find his voice used in YouTube videos and podcasts he never recorded. Sage had a similar experience after a 2019 job for “test scripts for radio ads.”

Lehrman and Sage argue that Lovo employees misrepresented their intentions, using the voice samples to create and market AI-generated voices. They seek over $5 million in damages and an injunction to stop the alleged misuse. Lovo could not be reached for comment.
