Volkswagen has introduced a new model to its GTX high-performance electric vehicle range with the addition of the ID.7 GTX. This latest variant features an all-wheel-drive system powered by twin electric motors, delivering a combined 335bhp. According to Volkswagen, this configuration enables the ID.7 GTX to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under six seconds.
The ID.7 GTX sports a hatchback design, offering substantial boot space. It is equipped with an 86kWh battery that supports 200kW quick-charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes when connected to a compatible fast charger. While Volkswagen hasn’t specified the maximum range for this model, the standard ID.7 Pro can achieve up to 435 miles per charge, suggesting the GTX variant might provide a slightly shorter range due to its enhanced performance features.
Distinctive modifications set the ID.7 GTX apart from standard versions in the ID. range. It includes standard 20-inch aluminium wheels and Volkswagen’s IQ.Light LED matrix headlights with illuminated VW badges. The exterior features high-gloss black elements and a fully black roof section. Inside, the car has heated seats with red contrast stitching, red perforated ‘GTX’ badges, and a multifunction steering wheel also accented with red stitching. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
Incorporating modern technology, the ID.7 GTX’s infotainment system includes ChatGPT artificial intelligence, which provides drivers with answers to various questions while on the road. Volkswagen has yet to announce the exact on-sale date, but further specifications and pricing details are expected to be released soon.
