Cisco Live this week showcased key updates and innovations, with a focus on AI-driven enhancements for Webex and collaboration technologies. New features such as AI Assistant capabilities and automatic mute functions aim to improve user experience and operational efficiency.

Cisco Live this week presented key updates and innovations, especially in the domain of Webex and collaboration technologies. Among the highlighted announcements, Cisco introduced new features for its AI Assistant in Webex. Users can ask the AI Assistant questions about recorded meeting topics, and the AI Assistant Custom Dictionary lets organizations add common terms and acronyms to its training data. Both features will enter Beta in July.

New AI-driven enhancements for Webex meetings include an automatic mute and privacy feature that activates when users step away from meetings, along with a summary of missed key points upon their return. This functionality will be available in June. Cisco also introduced Desk Reservation with Cisco Spaces, streamlining the process of finding and booking desk spaces alongside Cisco Collaboration Devices.

In the customer service realm, Webex Contact Center now features AI-powered native voice virtual agents, along with the capability for businesses to integrate third-party virtual agents (Beta in July). Additionally, an AI-powered agent wellness feature that detects burnout and suggests actions, like rests or lower-intensity channels, will be available in July.

Cisco has also launched a $1 billion AI investment fund via Cisco Investments to support AI startup ecosystems, with nearly $200 million already allocated to companies such as Cohere, Mistral AI, and Scale AI. This initiative emphasizes Cisco’s dedication to AI innovation. Control Hub will feature enhancements this Autumn, including workspace management and IT support improvements through AI-driven tools.

Further, Cisco announced AI partner specialization training designed to equip partners with the necessary skills to optimize AI workloads using Cisco technology, reflecting its commitment to improving AI capabilities among its partners.

These updates underscore Cisco’s strategic advancements in AI and collaboration technologies, designed to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
